My team at Wolf Creek Contracting probably gets tired of my sports analogies. I was an assistant high school football coach for several years, then coached my son and his friends from pee-wee until junior high. My daughter is a high school volleyball coach after previously playing and coaching at the collegiate level. I love coaching and I love to watch a good coach working the sidelines. So, when I use a sport analogy at Wolf Creek Contracting, I can’t help it, it’s in my blood.

During my years of coaching and now as the president of Wolf Creek Contracting, I have learned that I want a teammate with heart and a desire to be successful. My job is to lead and to teach. My job is to provide what is necessary to succeed. Too often, I watch leaders try to drive the square peg into the round hole. It happens in sports, it happens in the workplace. As leaders, we are often so set in our ways or systems that we can ruin an exceptional player by putting them into an impossible (for them) position. A 250 pound lineman may be the most talented player on your team but that doesn’t mean he would be the best running back.

At Wolf Creek Contracting, I’m truly surrounded by people with heart and desire to be successful, personally and professionally. They want to see Wolf Creek Contracting succeed and they know that for that to happen, our projects and the relationships that we build must be successful. As I have accessed the talent at Wolf Creek Contracting, I have moved several individuals into a position that better suits their strengths and what a difference it has made. It takes time to build a successful organization, it takes talent, heart and desire. I am fortunate to have people with all of the above. No company will ever reach the impossible level of “perfection”. We can only strive to improve each day, learn from each other and make each other better. Sounds a lot like a team.

Let us put our team to work for you!

Be safe out there!
